and Saturdays, December 6th & 13th - from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m.

Welcome to the Thorncliffe Greenview Ice Skating Club

Welcome back to all of our skaters from last year, and welcome aboard to all our new skaters for the 2008 – 2009 skating season at Thorncliffe.  It’s going to be another great year!!  A big welcome back to our awesome and tireless coaching team:

Melissa Butler (Head Coach), Madison Lyon, Diane Greenwood and Tara Garland.  All of our coaches are Skate Canada CanSkate Certified and/or NCCP Level 1 certified and we are indeed lucky to have them.  We also have a group of dedicated Program and Jr. Program Assistants helping out with the CanSkate/PrePower level programs.  At TGISC we have 5 different groups of skaters:  CanPower, CanSkate, Pre-Power, CanSkate Enhanced and StarSkate Test/Competitive level.  Our regular season runs from October 04/08 – March 21/09 with a 2 week break at Christmas.

Important Dates

October 4, 7 and 8/08 – Skating begins for all groups (Tues., Wed., and Sat.)

October 25/08 – All Saturday programs cancelled due to hockey tournament.
November 1/08 - Picture Day (included in fees)
November (end) – Pictures ready
December 20/08 – Last day of Skating for 2008 – Xmas party, ice demo & family skate

January 3, 2009 – Skating resumes

February, 2009 – Winterfest (date TBA)
March 20, 2009 – Wind up banquet (6:00 p.m.)
March 21, 2009 – Last day of lessons
March 22, 2009 – Final Day of Skating – Carnival Ice Show – All skaters attend

Throughout the regular season, our coaches have planned some fun, and always exciting theme days.  Be sure to watch for that!

Saturdays – 9:15 am – 10:45 am
StarSkate (Test Skaters) - Tuesdays – 4:15 pm – 5:45 pm
Wednesdays – 4:15 pm – 6:00 pm
 Saturdays – 9:15 pm – 10:45 pm

*Test Skaters & CanSkate Enhanced – OFF ICE – Tuesday 6:00 – 6:45pm racquet ball room in main building (included in fees).
